InfraBuild CEO Daksesh Patel extends his wishes to you and your family for a safe, happy and relaxing holiday season, and a prosperous and rewarding start to 2021. I want to extend my very best wishes to you, as a member of the InfraBuild family, as we approach the end of what has been a very challenging year.
2020 will long live in our collective memory for the disruption and change brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic. Its impact has been felt on all areas of our personal and working lives, and across all business sectors. I hope that you all find some time to reflect, rest and recharge over the coming Christmas and New Year break.
Despite the turbulent year, what I have been most impressed by has been our ability to respond, quickly adapt and continue to provide building and construction solutions, coupled with our unrelenting focus on exemplary customer service and ongoing product innovation. Our teams have embraced digital technologies to enable our work during periods of heightened restrictions and physical distancing measures, and implemented comprehensive occupational health and safety programs to ensure the safety of our people, our customers and the broader community. We have strengthened our business continuity planning and made changes to minimise and offset any future supply chain risks and disruption to our businesses.
These changes have been implemented along with other measures taken this year to reduce our costs, reduce our workforce and realign some of our operational and back-end activities to ensure we are fit-for-purpose and positioned appropriately as the economy recovers in the months and years ahead. Governments at Federal and State levels are progressively outlining their economic recovery plans which include a clear focus on infrastructure and construction activity, and related incentives.
Throughout the year, we have continued to build our reputation as an industry leader. Our updated Environmental Product Declarations were recognised by the Infrastructure Sustainability Council of Australia and the Green Building Council of Australia. The documents provide transparent sustainability data throughout a product’s lifecycle and, for the first time, a material circularity indicator. Our new Viribar®750 range of high-strength reinforcing steels, used for columns in large buildings, means we can offer customers ‘dematerialisation’ – a construction solution produced with less raw material and energy. We are well positioned to continue to supply essential steel and foundational materials to the Australian steel industry.
With the COVID-situation improving here in Australia, and restrictions starting to ease, I’m very much looking forward to a better year ahead.
I thank you for your ongoing support and wish you, your family and workforce a very Merry Christmas and a happy 2021.
