Key points

  • The Mildura Riverfront uses 60 tonnes of structural steel
  • G350 RHS and G300 structural beams were sourced from InfraBuild Steel Centre Mildura
  • The building has been transformed from a storage building to a new, state-of-the-art, two-level facility

One of the final and most eagerly awaited components of the Mildura Riverfront redevelopment was completed in June using InfraBuild Steel Centre-supplied product and completed by APK Engineering Mildura.

The building has been transformed from an aged storage building and run-down clubhouse to a new, state-of-the-art, two-level facility incorporating a ground floor riverfront café and restaurant, improved storage and upper-floor function room.

The 60t structural job included plenty of large G350 RHS from ATM and G300 structural beams from the Whyalla mill and the team at InfraBuild Steel Centre (formerly LIBERTY OneSteel Metalcentre) Mildura also arranged for rolling of a few of the larger sections to create the curved façade that the new building now proudly displays.

Special mention should go to Alison Bateman (Account Manager at InfraBuild Steel Centre Mildura). Alison’s proficiency and timeliness allowed APK engineering to complete the project without delay and in a professional manner.

The new venue is the centerpiece of Mildura’s $18m Riverfront redevelopment and provides an excellent example of the collaborative work done by both business to produce an outstanding facility using Australian-made product and supplied by local companies. It is certain to be utilised by the whole community for years to come.
