Project Scope: Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport at Badgerys Creek is a transformational infrastructure project that will service Sydney's growing aviation needs, while generating economic activity in the Western Sydney region. The airport will deliver 3200 jobs during construction, with the Western Sydney Aerotropolis acting as a further economic catalyst for the region.
Both the Australian and NSW governments are constructing and upgrading roads around the airport as part of the $3.6 billion Western Sydney Infrastructure Plan. Among the projects just completed as part of the airport's early works program have been the construction of a new and realigned Badgerys Creek Road and the installation of a new bridge.
In addition, both federal and state governments have committed to the first stage of the North South Rail Link from St Marys to the Western Sydney Aerotropolis via the airport.
The construction of the airport and the Aerotropolis promises to turn Western Sydney into a thriving economic hub.
Note that InfraBuild makes no assertion that it has been chosen as steel supplier to the Western Sydney Airport project.
