SENSE 600® wins World Steel Association Innovation of the Year Award

15 October 2025

InfraBuild has been recognised on the world stage, taking home the Innovation of the Year award at the 16th annual Steelie Awards hosted by the World Steel Association (worldsteel) in Washington, D.C.

InfraBuild’s win acknowledges the organisation’s commitment to driving sustainable innovation through SENSE 600® our reinforcing steel that delivers the same strength and performance as our standard Grade 500 steel, made from 100% scrap while using 16.7% less raw material and reducing embodied carbon by up to 39%. The award places InfraBuild among a select group of global steel producers recognised for pioneering advances that contribute to a more sustainable future for the industry.

Representing InfraBuild at the event, Tracey Sen, an InfraBuild Executive, accepted the award on behalf of the organisation.

“It’s a proud moment and great honour to see not only Australian innovation recognised at this level, but also InfraBuild,” Tracey said. “This achievement is testament to the creativity and collaboration across our team who continue to push boundaries and find new ways to make steel more sustainable. We believe in sustainability driven innovation solutions and SENSE 600® is a clear expression of how to do it."

The recognition not only reflects the success of SENSE 600®, but also the strength of InfraBuild’s people and purpose. From the engineers and production teams who developed the product to those bringing it to market, the award celebrates the collective effort behind our shared vision, to build a more sustainable world through steel innovation.
