Strength and Ductility of High-Strength Concrete Columns Confined with High-Strength Steel Ties (Oct 2017)

Confinement plays a critical role in the performance of high-strength concrete columns.

This research investigates how high strength steel ties improve the strength and ductility of concrete columns by providing more effective confinement of the concrete core. It shows that using higher strength ties can reduce reinforcement congestion while maintaining structural performance.

The findings support more efficient column design, improving constructability and reducing material use without compromising safety.
