Strength and Ductility of High-Strength Concrete Columns Reinforced with High-Strength Steel  (Oct 2018)

High strength materials are changing how reinforced concrete columns are designed and built.

This research examines the structural performance of concrete columns reinforced with high strength steel, including behaviour under different loading conditions. It shows how higher strength reinforcement can reduce steel volumes while maintaining strength and ductility.

The findings support more efficient column design, enabling smaller sections, reduced congestion and lower embodied carbon in high-rise construction.
