About Us

We are Australia’s leading integrated steel manufacturing, distribution and recycling business, providing solutions for commercial and residential construction, large scale and nation-building infrastructure, our primary producers and rural sectors. Each day we help build and enable a stronger Australia, for a changing world.

We are the largest integrated manufacturer and supplier of steel long products and solutions, and one of the largest metals recycling businesses in the country.

As a LIBERTY Steel Group brand, and part of the GFG Alliance, we work with a clear purpose to create a more sustainable future for industry and society, and contribute to GFG’s mission to become Carbon Neutral by 2030 (CN30).

We back the inventiveness and vision of our people, their diversity, their dedication, drive and passion. From our local teams supporting the construction of homes and schools and hospitals, to supplying reinforcing and structural solutions to build roads and tunnels and airports, decades of knowledge and passion are forged into everything we do.

Sustainable Steel

GREENSTEEL and CN30

We produce low-carbon steel and manufactured products, using GREENSTEEL manufacturing approaches to lower our carbon footprint.

Through recycling scrap metal, and using our Electric Arc Furnaces (at Rooty Hill, in Sydney, and Laverton, in Melbourne), we reduce carbon emssions by a third compared to traditional steelmaking methods.

Recycling metal reduces pollution, saves resources, reduces waste going to landfills and is an integral part our GREENSTEEL strategy, providing our businesses with a sustainable supply of feedstock for our electric arc furnaces to produce steel.

As part of our commitment to the GFG Alliance CN30 target, we will build on our GREENSTEEL strategies by using new technologies and renewable energy sources to further reduce our carbon footprint.

Supply Chain traceability and Modern Slavery

We provide a competitive advantage to our customers with full traceability through every step in our supply chain. InfraBuild has been at the forefront of this and was one of the first listings in the ISupply directory. This Directory, established by the Infrastructure Sustainability Council of Australia (ISCA), provides direct access to suppliers that can help a project or asset achieve sustainability.

We have also implemented a Supplier Standard (code of conduct) which specifically addresses our commitment to human rights, zero tolerance to human trafficking, child labour or the use of conflict minerals. To address Modern Slavery we have conducted a risk assessment to identify suppliers with a high risk to any potential modern slavery practices. Agreements now include specific clauses to modern slavery and have been put in place with high risk suppliers.

InfraBuild's holistic approach to sustainability, is documented in the GFG Alliance Sustainability Report Australia annual publication.

Our Values

Recognising that change is a constant in the world, we are dynamic in that we seek to drive change rather than let it drive us.

We are more than a team, we are a family.

As a family owned group of businesses, we think of sustainability across three dimensions; economic sustainability, social sustainability, environmental sustainability.

Our History

InfraBuild has a rich history spanning more than 100 years and has entered an exciting new chapter, playing an integral role in the nation building of Australia.

At InfraBuild, we are inspired by visions of what might be possible, of making our world a stronger, safer, more sustainable and connected place to live. They inspire us to challenge the notion of what is possible, from building the cities that we live in to the infrastructure that powers them. We're there to collaborate and help make possibilities happen.
