Adelaide Airport is expanding its main terminal to upgrade the international arrivals and departures lounges, and create more retail and dining options for passengers. The terminal expansion is the biggest infrastructure project undertaken at Adelaide Airport since the existing terminal was constructed in 2005.
Fabricator Samaras Group worked with primary contractor Watpac to fabricate and erect structural steel supplied by InfraBuild Steel Centre for the terminal expansion. One thousand eight hundred tonnes of steel have been installed and 4300 cubic metres of concrete have been poured, with more than 200 workers currently on site (as at December 2019).
It's estimated that project construction will contribute more than $160 million to South Australia’s Gross State Product.
