Building Peer Support: Geelong Site Launches MHFA Network

26 May 2025

At InfraBuild, we know that looking out for one another is just as important as getting the job done. That’s why we’ve launched a new Mental Health First Aiders (MHFA) Network at our Geelong site – bringing together trained team members from both the afternoon and night shifts to strengthen peer support on site.

The first meeting gave our Mental Health First Aiders a chance to talk through how their training is helping in everyday situations, share experiences, and support each other with practical advice. The team also received new helmet stickers to help make it easier for colleagues to identify who they can turn to for a confidential chat or mental health support.

The group has embraced the initiative and committed to meeting every two months, with sessions facilitated by InfraBuild team leader Leigh. They’ve also put their hands up to help share mental health resources across the site as part of our broader We Care program – making sure important information reaches every shift.

“Everyone has been really keen to meet and share their stories. We’re seeing how the training can make a difference, but everyone is now also feeling supported,” said Leigh Davis, our WHS Support and RTW Coordinator, who is facilitating the meetings.

This is one of many ways InfraBuild is supporting the wellbeing of our people – because strong teams start with strong support.
