Eight InfraBuild Reinforcing Sites Now SSA Level 2B Certified

23 June 2025

InfraBuild Reinforcing’s Carole Park (Qld) and Noble Park (Vic) sites have now been recertified to Level 2B under the Steel Sustainability Australia (SSA) scheme. They join the six other sites – Eagle Farm, St Marys, Sunshine, Canberra, Cavan and Forrestfield – that achieved certification earlier this year.

Why SSA Certification Matters

SSA Level 2B is a comprehensive sustainability certification that assesses environmental, social and governance (ESG) performance across the steel supply chain. Certification gives assurance to customers that the steel they’re using meets industry-recognised sustainability standards.

Supporting Green Star and IS Ratings

Combined with InfraBuild’s Environmental Product Declaration (EPD), these eight SSA-certified sites now offer the highest possible contribution (with a Responsible Products Value (RPV) of 15 points) under the Green Building Council of Australia’s Green Star Buildings’ ‘Responsible Products Value’ framework.

SSA is also recognised under ISv2.1, the Infrastructure Sustainability Council’s leading ratings tool, with the highest possible Sustainability Factor value of 1.0. This means InfraBuild Reinforcing products from these Certified sites are well positioned to support projects working towards either of Australia’s two key sustainability ratings systems for the built environment.

Helping Customers Meet Sustainability Targets

“These certifications give our customers confidence that the steel reinforcing they’re using from these InfraBuild Reinforcing sites meets robust environmental and social benchmarks,” said David Bell, Manager Sustainability & Insight at InfraBuild.

“As more projects seek to meet the requirements of the Green Star and ISv2.1 ratings tools, we’re proud to help them get there.”
