InfraBuild is proud to be featured in a new report by the Australian Industry Group (AI Group) which showcases how leading Australian companies are embracing Artificial Intelligence (AI).
The report compiled in partnership with the Australian Government’s National Artificial Intelligence Centre (NAIC) explores how AI is being used to strengthen operations, support people and lift productivity.
The report looks at InfraBuild’s Bundle Tagging Machine is a custom-built AI-enabled solution that automates the tagging of steel bundles which was historically a repetitive and physically demanding task which required workers to navigate moving products.
The system identifies, positions, and affixes tags to bundles with consistency and accuracy, creating a safer and more reliable workflow.
InfraBuild is also working on other AI projects which aim to reduce waste, improve machine utilisation and enhance product quality and safety.
“The implementation of AI technologies has significantly improved safety by reducing the human exposure in hazardous environments and has enhanced traceability through automated data capture,” Innovation Manager Sharmy Francis writes.
“These advancements have led to higher product quality, reduced errors, and increased operational efficiency, inspiring further AI projects within various industries”.
In the report InfraBuild says AI is intended to augment, not replace, human workers, enhancing and streamlining decision making through the use of data.
AI also presents an opportunity to upskill operators to manage and maintain robotic systems and create additional skilled roles.
