Building clean energy infrastructure and recycling it too
InfraBuild played a key role at this year’s Australian Wind Energy Conference, highlighting how Australian-manufactured reinforcing steel supports wind energy projects across the country – and how that same steel can be recovered and recycled at the end of its life.
From turbine foundations to transmission tower bases, InfraBuild’s steel solutions are helping build the future of renewable energy while supporting a circular economy.
Panel spotlight: A future for Made in Australia
InfraBuild CEO Francisco Irazusta joined the main stage panel A Future for Made in Australia – Take Advantage of Wind-to-X and Green Metals, alongside leaders from InterContinental Energy, Clayton Utz and Zenith Energy.
Moderated by Simon Currie of Energy Estate, the discussion explored how wind energy can power the production of green hydrogen and sustainable metals, unlock export opportunities, and strengthen Australia’s position in the global clean energy value chain.
“Australia’s clean energy future relies on local capability,” said Francisco.
“That means local materials, local manufacturing, and smart use of resources like recycled steel. InfraBuild is proud to be part of that solution.”
Steel on show: AR experience draws a crowd
At the InfraBuild stand, attendees explored an augmented reality experience focused on SENSE 600® – our lower embodied carbon reinforcing steel.
The immersive display offered a closer look at the product and its benefits, highlighting the role of steel innovation in supporting renewable energy infrastructure in the future.
Let’s keep building
With decades of experience, certified sustainable products and a national network, InfraBuild is ready to support wind, solar, hydro and transmission projects across Australia.
