SENSE 600® Reinforcing Bar EPD

This Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) covers the environmental impacts of InfraBuild’s SENSE 600® reinforcing bars manufactured by InfraBuild to AS/NZS 4671 (Steel for the reinforcement of concrete).

This EPD is an update of the previous InfraBuild EPD and is valid for a declared unit of one tonne (t) of product ready for dispatch to a customer.

The GWP for InfraBuild’s Grade SENSE 600^® Reinforcing Bar product is 982 kg CO₂eq / t steel.

InfraBuild’s SENSE 600® reinforcing bars can be substituted for InfraBuild’s standard Grade 500 reinforcing bars, offering a mass reduction of up to 16.7% in certain applications.  In this case, SENSE 600® delivers a reduction in the GWP of 33% compared with InfraBuild’s grade 500N reinforcing bar.

Material Circularity Indicator (MCI) metrics and pre- and post-consumer recycled content percentages have been developed and included for the products covered in this EPD.

The total pre- and post-consumer recycled content is 94.3 %.

The Material Circularity Indicator (MCI) is 89.9%.
