At InfraBuild, engineers are using technology and innovation to deliver the next generation of infrastructure. For Avany Kombara, a civil engineer and reinforcing detailer, the role is about solving challenges, improving designs and building more sustainable outcomes.
A Career Built on Challenge
“I like the challenges and the opportunity to learn more about technology and what I can do in steel reinforcement,” Avany said. From high rises to wind farms and bridges, she works on projects that are transforming Australia’s built environment.
Bringing Projects to Life in 3D
Through 3D modelling, Avany helps estimate how much steel is needed, detail the design, and suggest improvements. “Sometimes the design isn’t the optimal solution, so we can suggest a better one,” she explained. For her, the best part of the job is seeing a project move from model to reality.
Technology and Sustainability
What drew Avany to InfraBuild was the evolving technology and the chance to be part of a more sustainable industry. “There are so many projects coming in, and that means more opportunities. We can make the future more sustainable, and I look forward to being part of that.”
Engineers like Avany are strengthening InfraBuild and the steel industry by combining innovation with practical solutions.
