InfraBuild and Visy Partnership Drives Safety, Service and Sustainability
17 November 2025
Our Laverton recycling site has strengthened its operations through a new partnership with Visy, delivering a modern fleet of tippers and hook trucks that raise the bar on safety, service and efficiency.
A modern, safer fleet
Visy began working with InfraBuild in October 2025 and has since introduced a new fleet of trucks designed to enhance productivity and reduce risks on site. The automated hydraulic tailgate system on the new tippers means drivers no longer need to leave their cabin to release or lock tailgates, removing manual handling and improving yard safety.
Four tippers and three hook trucks are already in service, with additional vehicles joining the fleet every week. By the end of 2025, around 30 Visy trucks will be in operation, with the remainder expected to be on the road by early 2026.
Each truck proudly carries the InfraBuild brand, symbolising our shared commitment to reliable service and safer, smarter recycling operations across Victoria.
Collaboration in action
The partnership reflects a shared focus between InfraBuild and Visy on operational excellence, innovation and sustainability. The new fleet will improve turnaround times, optimise logistics and support ongoing improvements across our recycling network.
“This outcome shows what’s possible when teams work together with a shared goal,” said Jon Lopac, Executive General Manager Freight and Logistics. “Our Freight and Logistics and Recycling teams have collaborated closely with Visy to deliver a safer, more efficient transport solution that supports our people, our customers and the environment.”
Women driving change
One of the new drivers is pictured, Sarah Shiell, is a graduate of Visy’s Women in Logistics program. She joined Visy in 2023 as a rigid truck driver before stepping up to operate bulk tippers for InfraBuild’s Victorian Recycling operations.
Sarah said she’s proud to be part of the partnership and excited to play a role in supporting a safer and more sustainable future for the industry.
