At our recycling sites, every piece of scrap has potential. For Rebecca Rinaudo, the excitement lies in seeing that transformation firsthand and being part of the team that keeps valuable materials in the cycle.
“We see some really cool stuff come in for recycling, like airplanes, trains, buses and boats,” Rebecca said. “It all goes through the shredder, and then we either truck it down south to the EAF, or fill shipping containers that get exported overseas to be processed and come back as new steel again.”
It is not just the work that keeps her motivated. It is the people.
“I love coming to work because of my colleagues. It is a real family environment here, and I love being a team player,” she said. “I did not think recycling was for me until I tried it, and I cannot get enough of it.”
Now in a senior leadership position, Rebecca says the culture at InfraBuild supports inclusion and respect.
“I feel respected regardless of my gender, and I would encourage everyone to give it a go.”
From aeroplanes to everyday scrap, every load helps close the loop, turning yesterday’s metal into tomorrow’s steel.
