InfraBuild’s Dave Cowan highlights important leadership skills with students at Emu Gully
17 January 2024
InfraBuild’s Dave Cowan joined Emu Gully Adventure Education Group earlier this week for the Australian Industry Trade College rookies challenge.
Speaking at the event, Dave Cowan, InfraBuild Reinforcing’s National Process Improvement Manager, shared career advice with budding students, highlighting important skills needed to join the workforce.
Over the past 18 months and ahead of the rookies challenge, Dave has been working closely with the Australian Industry Trade College (AITC) – a bespoke schooling system that enables great interaction with industry, and champions young people to become confident, skilled and work ready.
“The day at Emu Gully was an induction for young people into the AITC education system, it targets teamwork and self-belief, my day consisted of engaging with young people, sharing my journey at InfraBuild and mentoring students,” said Dave.
“It was also an opportunity to talk to students about leadership, commitment and respect. It gave me the platform to promote the career opportunities that exist within our business,” he continued.
Sharing images from the day, AITC’s Industry Engagement Officer Glenn English also thanked Dave for his participation, sharing on LinkedIn that his “engagement with the young people and advice shared has been greatly received by everyone.”
