InfraBuild’s Donation Helps Families in Need

11 July 2023

InfraBuild Steel Centre Silverwater, is supporting sick and injured children through a large donation to Ronald McDonald House.

InfraBuild donated $5000 during the Dance for Sick Kids campaign, which is a fundraising initiative designed to raise vital funds for sick kids and their families who call Ronald McDonald House Charities GWS (RMHC GWS) home.

The donation was then doubled by the public on a dollar matching day which allowed Infrabuild to have twice the impact.

$450,000 has been raised through the initiative, funding 2823 nights of accommodation at the facility next to The Children’s Hospital at Westmead.

The House supports up to 1500 families a year at an average of 14 nights, ensuring those who have to travel from all over Australia for treatment have beds, showers, meals, education and holistic support.

Whilst the house provides a shelter, resources and basic necessities for hospital patients, a big part of their charity work is centred around providing their families with a comfortable and supportive place to stay for parents, guardians, carers and their siblings whilst they’re undergoing treatment.

“When we were younger my sister burned her neck on a fire. Living 500 kilometres away Ronald McDonald House provided us the support that we needed at the time that we needed it,” InfraBuild Steel Centre Silverwater CSO Jye Lucca said.

“I’m so pleased to work for a company that can donate to a cause that has helped my family when we needed it.”

“This donation allows us to continue to provide an essential service to the community while their child goes through the most challenging of times. It is free for families to use our services for as long as they need but it costs RMHC $160 a night to support a family and this donation had an incredible impact on our families. It allows us to provide a level of care and support so families can focus on what’s important, their child,” Partnerships Account Manager Samantha Devlin said.
