Recruitment Process

Eligibility

Graduate Program

An eligible applicant must currently reside in Australia and:

  • be an Australian citizen, OR
  • a New Zealand citizen eligible to live and work in Australia, OR
  • hold an Australian permanent residency status, OR
  • hold an appropriate visa with unlimited working rights, AND
  • have completed in the past three years (or be due to complete in 2024) an Australian tertiary degree, AND
  • have less than 2 years full-time, discipline-relevant work experience (part-time work or work unrelated to your discipline doesn’t count), AND
  • be willing to complete pre-employment checks including but not limited to criminal checks, qualification checks, medical, and reference checks.

Vacation Student Program

An eligible applicant must currently reside in Australia and:

  • be an Australian citizen, OR
  • a New Zealand citizen eligible to live and work in Australia, OR
  • hold an Australian permanent residency status, OR
  • hold an appropriate visa with relevant working rights, AND
  • is currently in the penultimate or final year of an Australian tertiary degree, AND
  • be willing to complete pre-employment checks including but not limited to criminal checks, qualification checks, medical, and reference checks.

Process

Dates are approximate and may vary slightly from year to year. All efforts will be made to let you know of any changes. All stages within the recruitment process apply to both Graduate Program and Vacation Program applicants.

Stay ahead of the curve by expressing your interest early. Complete our Expression of Interest (EOI) form to ensure you're notified about application openings and have the opportunity to engage in a discussion with our Talent Business Partner.

 

Stage 1 – Application

When applications are open, visit our careers page to submit your online application.

To be considered for the graduate/vacation program with InfraBuild, you must ensure all sections of the application form are completed and submitted online with all the required supporting documents by the closing date.

Required supporting documentation:

  • CV
  • Cover letter
  • Electronic copy of your academic transcript
  • GPA average
  • Evidence of residency status
  • Evidence of an IELTS score of 7.0 or above if you are an international student

Stage 2 – Online Assessments

You will be required to complete a video interview and psychometric assessments as the next step in the process. A link will be sent to your nominated email address with instructions on how to complete the video interview and psychometric assessments via our 3rd party providers.

Stage 3 – Assessment Centre or Interview

Depending on the number of applicants and available locations, applicants progressing to this stage will be invited to attend either an Assessment Centre (virtual or face-to-face), or an interview with a panel made up of representatives from the business.

  • Our Assessment Centre is designed to provide a comprehensive evaluation of your skills, competencies, and potential fit within InfraBuild. Expect a dynamic and immersive experience where you'll engage in a series of activities and assessments that simulate real workplace scenarios, including an interview to further explore your qualifications and suitability for the role.
  • Our Interview will give you the opportunity to discuss your academic achievements, work experience to date, personal qualities, and why you’re a good fit for InfraBuild. You will also have the opportunity to ask questions about our organisation and potential career pathways with us.

Stage 4 – Pre-employment Checks

If you are successful post-interview, you will be required to complete reference checks and pre-employment checks, including but not limited to medical assessments, criminal/background checks, qualification checks, and working rights verification.

Stage 5 – Outcome

If you are successful, you will receive a verbal offer and an employment contract to review and sign. No matter the outcome, you will be advised in writing of the result of the selection process. Due to the large number of applicants for this program, please be patient while we process and review all applications.
