An honour and privilege, thank you

29 June 2021

Hi everyone,

As I finish up my time as CEO of this great business, it’s time to reflect and give my heartfelt thanks both to our team and to our customers. It’s been a wonderful two years, full of ups and downs and I’ve learnt so much along the way.

I’m proud of the way our team responded to two significant challenges – first COVID, and then the contagion flowing from the collapse of Greensill Capital earlier this year – to continue supplying essential steel to our building and construction industry partners. Our values of change, family and sustainability continue to inspire our team and guides their work which helps keep people in jobs, helps keep the economy ticking over and keeps local communities strong.

To our customers, thank you for continuing to choose InfraBuild.

InfraBuild has a proud history, one that’s intertwined with modern Australia. We’ve continuously operated for more than 100 years, manufacturing and delivering solutions to help keep Australia moving forward. And we’re here to continue that work for generations to come. The strong partnership that our business has with our customer base and industry partners allows us to continue to innovate and evolve our products, including our range of low carbon, high-strength reinforcing steels developed to meet Australian standards and withstand Australian conditions.

We take our role in championing sustainable industry seriously, along with the need to operate responsibly and safely. Our focus on safety – the right we all have to work safe and go home safe each day – extends to all our stakeholders, including our customers and local communities and our strong safety performance is something to be celebrated.

While I’m looking forward to continuing my association with InfraBuild as a Board director, I wanted to take the opportunity, in closing, to offer a public thank you to my wife and family, and to Sanjeev.  When I agreed with Sanjeev to take on the CEO role for a fixed term back in 2019, I could never have imagined a more challenging but rewarding two years. Thank you to my family for your ongoing support, as always, and thank you Sanjeev for having faith in me and giving me the opportunity to lead a talented executive team and oversee the transition to the new CEO Vik Bansal.

I know Vik and the leadership team are raring to go and will take InfraBuild to the next level to ensure this great business continues to play its important role in shaping Australia.

Stay safe,

Dak.
