Manufacturing leaders meet at Best Practice Conference 

Our Manufacturing leadership team got together in September at the Novotel Rooty Hill for their annual Best Practice Conference.  

Over two days, 88 operational, maintenance and functional teams across Manufacturing, as well as representatives from Wire and Whyalla, worked through presentations and workshop sessions under the theme: Digital Manufacturing. 

The conference aimed to integrate the business units and align leaders with the FY24 strategy, as well as establish strong networks across our Australian steel operations. In line with our vision and focus on establishing strong customer relationships, Brett Pitt, National General Manager of Trade Service Centres, and Paul Barbuto, NSW General Manager from Ausreo presented.  

The team were joined for dinner with Aussie cricket legend, Steve Waugh, who spoke on a range of topics in a Q&A segment. He reflected on his own personal experiences in a leadership position and the importance of teamwork and mateship.   

We are looking forward to seeing the outcomes and objectives from the conference come to life in 2024!
