Virtual reality (VR) has become an increasingly popular tool for training in a wide range of industries, and now we are utilising this technology to train our apprentices at the InfraBuild Laverton Steel Mill.
We have developed a simulation-based training program that allows apprentices to experience a variety of scenarios that they may encounter on the job.
One of the benefits of using VR for apprentice training is that it allows apprentices to learn in a safe and controlled environment. They can make mistakes and learn from them without risking damage to equipment or endangering themselves or others. This also means that they can gain more experience in a shorter amount of time, as they can repeat scenarios as many times as necessary to master the skills.
