When Alex Helmers joined InfraBuild through the graduate program, he was given more than just training – he was given ownership. From day one, he worked on real projects with real responsibility.
Global Training, Local Impact
“My first month as a graduate was in Germany and London for training. That experience gave me the confidence to bring back global insights to our local operations,” Alex recalls.
From Student to Senior Engineer
The transition from student engineer to graduate and beyond was smooth. “Rather than rotating, I was placed on a major project and treated like a full engineer. That gave me the chance to work with stakeholders in the melt shop and really make a difference.”
Growing With InfraBuild
Over five years, Alex’s career has advanced from graduate to engineer, and now to Applications Team Lead. “The opportunities I’ve had here have been unparalleled. It’s been about learning from others and taking every opportunity that came my way.”
Advice to New Graduates
Alex’s message is clear, “Go into the program with open arms. Take every opportunity. Spend time with everyone. That’s where the real learning happens.”
