Accelerating leadership capability across InfraBuild

Middle level leaders play a critical role in our business. They translate strategy into action, shape culture on the ground and connect teams across the organisation. 

That is the focus of Accelerate, our seven-month leadership development program designed specifically for leaders at this pivotal level. 

Grounded in our ADAPT Leadership Framework, Accelerate strengthens the capabilities leaders need to navigate complexity, lead with impact and support their teams to thrive. The program blends live virtual sessions, practical application, executive engagement and coaching, all delivered alongside day-to-day responsibilities. 

Participants build capability across areas including: 

  • Translating strategy into clear team goals 
  • Connecting financial fundamentals and customer needs to decision making 
  • Leading inclusively and creating psychologically safe environments 
  • Tackling complex challenges through adaptive leadership 
  • Strengthening practical skills such as coaching, feedback, communication and stakeholder engagement 

At its core, Accelerate is about building self-awareness, agility and leadership confidence. 

Lucy Hood, Learning and Development Manager, said the program was intentionally designed to support leaders at one of the most influential levels of the business. 

“Middle level leaders have a significant impact on culture, performance, and engagement. Accelerate gives them practical tools and the confidence to lead in a way that is aligned to our strategy and values.” 

She said the focus is practical and immediately applicable. 

“We want participants to leave each module able to apply what they have learned straight away. It is about building habits, strengthening judgement and helping leaders navigate complexity with clarity.” 

Each cohort is sponsored by a different senior leader, who opens the program with reflection on their own leadership journey. Cohort three sponsor, George Yamashita reinforced a simple but powerful message in his opening address of our latest intake of Accelerate, leadership is continuous learning. We are thrilled to see the next 24 leaders in the business embark on this course.
