InfraBuild, helping create a future beyond the bin.
As InfraBuild celebrates National Recycling Week: A future beyond the bin, we want to share information, insights, facts and figures about our InfraBuild Recycling operations and the initiatives taking place across our steelmaking business more broadly.
We play a key role in the circular economy and promote the use of resources such as steel for as long as possible. InfraBuild Recycling recovers and re-uses these resources to extract their full value by providing scrap steel to the steel industry and helping keep waste out of landfill.
Australia is currently in an infrastructure boom. Major road, bridge, railway, metro and light rail projects, hospitals, sport stadia and school projects are underway. Locally made steel is playing an important part in that new infrastructure, not only because it’s an infinitely recyclable building product, but because it’s helping stimulate local economies and creating new jobs.
InfraBuild Recycling’s 26 branches across Australia receive scrap metal which goes on to make up the 1.4 million tonnes of ferrous and non-ferrous scrap metal processed every year.
With operations globally, InfraBuild Recycling keeps sustainability as its driving force. The staff across InfraBuild Recycling’s local branches know every bit helps – and acting locally is the best way for us all to make an impact.
