You Matter. We Care: Supporting Health and Wellbeing at InfraBuild

Safe Work Month is a reminder to keep our Health, Safety and Environment Principles front of mind. You Matter. We Care highlights the importance of health and wellbeing across physical, mental and emotional areas. When people feel well, they succeed at work and in life.

Sarah Walsh, National Occupational Health and Wellbeing Advisor, explains:

“Wellbeing doesn’t have to be complicated. Consistency, communication, transparency goes a long way to build trusted relationships and showing you care.”

The You Matter. We Care program provides practical ways for teams to support themselves and each other. Resources are available on topics such as mental health support, physical wellbeing, stress management, mindfulness, connection and community.

Sarah adds:

“The We Care program has so many great resources and tools available to our team. Sonder, our new Employee Assistance Program offers location-based safety tools, a self-care library, access to qualified medical professionals and that’s just the beginning.”

Under our We Care program, InfraBuild has an extensive network of more than 150 Mental Health First Aiders who are trained to recognise and support colleagues experiencing a mental health problem or crisis. Many of our sites also organise regular doctor visits, skin checks, and blood pressure checks to help employees stay on top of their health. In addition, we offer a library of wellness webinars covering topics such as stress management, financial wellbeing, and healthy sleep habits.

“We’re always looking for ways to grow and evolve with our people so we can continue to look after you and your workmates,” Sarah said.

During Safe Work Month and throughout the year, You Matter. We Care reminds us that safety is not only about preventing physical harm. It is also about creating an environment where people can access support, share experiences and build resilience together.
